Lower Cost General Practice Visits
Lower Cost General Practice Visits as from 1 December 2018 for
Community Services Card Holders enrolled with a General Practice
For Community Services Card holders and their dependants aged 14 years to 17 years who are enrolled with a general practice (who are opted into this scheme), will pay less for their visits to see a doctor or nurse.
Benefits for having a Community Services Card and being enrolled with your general practice are:
- An adult with a Community Services Card won’t pay more than $18.50 for a standard visit with a doctor or nurse
- Young people aged 14 years to 17 years, who have a parent or caregiver with a Community Services Card will be charged no more than $12.50 for a standard visit with a doctor or nurse
Please Note: Fees for extended consultations, procedures and extra services, such as certificates or equipment, may still be charged.
Community Services Cards are issued by Work and Income. Some people are automatically entitled to a Community Services Card, while others may have to apply. To find out more information, please visit workandincome.govt.nz/CSC
